DISCLAIMER:
The following
is intended for background informational purposes only. All specific
information such as court case numbers are available to the public
should you wish to learn more. Again, we stress that the below
is only intended as documenting how and why The Lake Tara Nature
Habitat was formed.
Lake Tara's Nature Habitat is one such case. The case of Lake
Tara's Nature Habitat against Michael Adamson (owner of Forrest
Homes Inc ). civil case # 05-CV-957-7
Through the Adamson's wheeling and dealing with Clayton counties
"good ole boy network" and our county lawyer at the
time determined if they let the family quit-claim the property
to each other and say it came from the estate of the grandfather
then it can be and will be determined private property. So Michael
adamson did not need a permit to breach the dam/spillway. Now
Michael Adamson is the son of Frank Adamson (who is our former
probate judge from the 50's and was asked to leave the county
(after being taken to state court) due to the fact he was convicted
of falsification of public records and embezzlement from Clayton
county) state case #3-1792 & 3-1791. All records are public.
The purpose was to sell the land, build homes and then they all
would win. Money to developers and builders but most of all more
residential Tax dollars for the county, so without the knowledge
of the community the county took it upon themselves to contact
the family and asked them to take it so their fingerprints would
not be on it directly. ( but indirectly is just as bad or worse)
No one in the community knew the lake was being talked about much
less be given away.
The reason people have moved in and stayed for years is because
of lake Tara, it's natural beauty and many varieties of wildlife.
Later in the case Michael opened another corp and moved the land
over into Lake Tara LLC. (without our knowledge)
The preceding mentioned also took place across Tara Rd. via another
greedy developer (the other half of Tara Lake) where new homes
(less than 5 years old) now stand and several have already developed
serious foundation problems and some have already changed ownership
one or more times.
Now
lets discuss the wildlife affected. Make sure and view the slide
shows throughout this web site and you will get a idea
of the scope of wildlife that will be affected in a adverse and
non-reversable way including Red Tail Hawks (nesting), Osprey's
(nesting), Red Wing Blackbird, Brown Thrashers, Beavers, White
Tail Deer, Blue and White Heron, Canadian Geese, Several species
of fish including (Large Mouth Bass, Crappie, Bluegill, Catfish,
and more). Pictures of most of this wildlife found on wildlife
page of this site. All of the above mentioned were threatened
by Clayton County and Adamson's actions.

a complete listing and status of wildlife in the Jonesboro area
and surrounding counties check out this web site. http://www.worldwildlife.org
With
over 100,000+ homes available throughout
Atlanta and surrounding counties on ANY given day, WHY do we need
to destroy ecological systems much less disrupt settled families
for the sake of the Almighty Dollar. Every day
on I75 or I285 you can see the HUGE
electronic billboard stating that over 80,000 homes are available.
If there are 80,000+ homes available every day surely there is
something available to suite the needs of any buyer. If not buy
the land an existing home sets on, tear it down and build there
instead of destroying more of nature. THINK PEOPLE.
